Well it was my first trip to the Esquire and I must say I was expecting a little more. The seats were a little cramped and the clear channel executive next to me smelled like he had a mixture of Drakkor and Cool Water. Talk about a headache after the movie. Wow! Anyway here is my review:

Napoleon Dynamite is one of those films that will be a love it or leave it type of film. That is because everyone has a different taste as to what is funny and what is not. Personally, I thought this was one of the funniest movies grace our movie screens in quite some time. It stars newcomer Jon Heder who if you ever seen out in the real world you would not believe that he is the one that played Napoleon Dynamite, scratch that, is Napoleon Dynamite.

Watching Napoleon Dynamite is like watching your whole group of friends wrapped together into one movie. Let?s face it; we all have the friend that has that weird obsession with weapons, much like our beloved star or the friend that wasn?t quite as popular as he would like to make you believe; let alone the guy that no matter what, thought he had great ninja skills. That is what Napoleon Dynamite is. He represents the spectrum of what I am sure is the majority of friend circles.

The movie is more like Seinfeld then an actual plot based movie. The movie really doesn?t have a point other then to make us laugh with the antics of Napoleon, which is by far the most rewarding thing with this movie. We are rewarded with Napoleon meeting his best friend Pedro. As well as the now famous bike jumping scene and who can forget the dance routine? You have to see it to know what I am talking about as I don?t want to ruin it for anybody.

The movie stars Jon Heder, Jon Gries, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Haylie Duff (Yes, Hillary?s sister) and Sandy Martin. Jon Heder and Efren Ramierz quite possibly pull off one of the greatest comedic performances in quite along time, and what makes it even funnier is it looks like they aren?t even trying to.

So in conclusion, if you are into sai?s, dance routines, a llama and a sweet Ligor, then this movie is a must friggin see!

I will still visit the GL Shrine I've constructed in my house, and will worship it every day.

Haven't seen the Esquire in a bit, we moved just after they did that expansion/remodel thing but I remember those two mini-theaters to either side of the lobby (kind of) and I always felt cramped in them. Now the main theater wasn't so bad but like I say it's been a while.

I used to love being able to just walk up there.

I am talking about being spaced out a little more. The actual seats were fine, but the guy next to me smelled like a cologne factory explosion. Fucking headache.
